GMOs – Chemicals or Poison!

GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms) are plants and animals created through gene splicing techniques of biotechnology or GE: Genetic Engineering. This technology is mixing DNA from different species and is creating a mixture in plant, animal, bacterial and viral genes that could not occur in nature through normal crossbreeding. This interference with nature it supposedly help the farmer to give increased yield, drought tolerance, enhance nutrition as well as many consumer benefits. The reality is far from it! There is strong growing evidence that GMOs created severe health problems, environmental damage and violation of farmers and consumers rights.

When did GMO start? GMOs have first been introduced in 1996 and it took some years before it has shown some of the negative effects on our health. GMOs are the major contributor of deteriorating health in the western world. Germany has become wise of this, they have removed themselves of being one of the sacrificial lambs.

According to ongoing studies and evidence the findings may not be completed for a long time. Studies also have revealed, for anyone who was consuming genetically modified food for any length of time harmful proteins is still produced inside of our intestines, even after having stopped eating this type of food.

There are many types of warnings that GM foods create nutritional problems such as allergies, poison, destroying of kidneys, liver and are a contributing factor for many new diseases. The chronic diseases increased by some 7 percent since GM crops ave been started. The other downside of this is many diseases take a very long time to develop.

Warning of scientists ignored! Before a decision was made to allow GMOs into food production scientists had repeatedly warned that GM foods can create unpredictable, hard to detect side effects of which the list is still growing today and yet the warning of scientists was ignored.

Most safety assessments in place are too superficial to even know most of the potential dangers from GMOs, although some health studies show growing evidence of harm from GMOs. GM corn can damage liver and kidneys; also meat is different raised from GM feed. Roundup can cause birth defects and genetically modified soy a contributing factor to sterility etc. In addition to previous evidence it is showing that BT Biopesticide, which confers insect resistance produced in GM corn and cotton plants, is toxic to human and mammals alike and triggers immune system responses. This type of BT toxins also entered the blood of pregnant women and babies. There for it proves and confirms the toxin can enter our blood supply. At the same time this also explains the rise in many diseases since BT crop varieties were first introduced back in the late 1990s.

Help yourself because no one else will! People who are aware of this problem are trying to avoid GMO products when shopping. However, this is difficult because of the labelling laws. Food companies are not required by law to put on the labels: Genetically Modified Ingredients (GMO).

This clearly demonstrates that governments do not give a hoot about the safety and health of the public. Instead of minimising any health risk in the first place, governments seem happy spending huge amounts of tax payer’s money on health and Medicare when people get sick. Although there is logic behind all of this: The older we get and the longer we live the more money it’s costing governments! Was just a thought!
